Alan Rickman Dirigirá "Creditors" en The Donmar.

The Donmar season will continue with Strindberg's Creditors, presented in a new version by David Greig, that Alan Rickman will direct, opening on Sept. 30 (following previews from Sept. 25) for a run to Nov. 15. Written in 1890 and described in press materials as Strindberg's most mature work, Creditors is a darkly comic tale of obsession, honor and revenge, and the production continues the Donmar's commitment to presenting European drama in new adaptations for a modern audience. Rickman, best known as an actor, has also previously directed My Name Is Rachel Corrie (Royal Court Theatre and subsequently at the West End's Playhouse Theatre and Off-Broadway) and The Winter Guest at the Almeida. Playwright/translator Greig previously provided the Donmar with a new version of Caligula, while his original play The Cosmonaut's Last Message to the Woman He Once Loved in the Former Soviet Union was revived at the Donmar in 2005.

Theatre stars unite for reform of 'brutal' UK asylum system.

Stars of British theatre, film and television will tonight (2nd March) turn the spotlight on what they describe as the brutal treatment of women and children seeking asylum in the UK.

The event is being organised by Women for Refugee Women, which will urge supporters to sign a Mother's Day petition to be sent to ministers. The petition calls on the Government to "ensure that the persecution women face, including rape, honour crimes and female genital mutilation, is taken seriously in asylum claims; we call on the Government not to make destitute, detain or deport women who are at risk of gender-related persecution.

Estrellas Brítanicas de teatro, cine y televisión, encenderán esta noche (el 2 de marzo) el foco de lo que ellos describen como el brutal tratamiento a mujeres y niños que piden asilo en el Reino Unido.

El evento esta organizado por Mujeres para Mujeres de Refugio que impulsará a partidiarios a firmar la petición el Día de la Madre para ser enviada a ministros. La Petición pide al Gobierno "asegurar a las mujeres perseguidas, que incluso la violación, los delitos de honor y la mutilación genital femenina, sean tomadas en serio en reclamaciones de asilo; pedimos al Gobierno a no hacer indigentes, detener o deportar a mujeres que están en peligro de la persecución relacionada con el género"

Doris Lessing wins Nobel Prize, the last 30 January, in the Colección Wallace, London.
The celebration was organised by HarperCollins. She has surrounded by friends and admirers including arts minister Margaret Hodge, artist Antony Gormley, the BBC's creative director Alan Yentob and actors Alan Rickman and Juliet Stevenson, she said of the celebration: "It's great fun."
